Special winter concert

CANFIELD — The Canfield Community Concert Band is presenting a special winter concert at 3 p.m. Jan. 17 in the Canfield High School Auditorium. Admission to the concert will be canned goods or cash donations to benefit Operation Blessing.

Operation Blessing is a volunteer group started more than 20 years ago through Canfield churches (Canfield Presbyterian, Old North, Canfield Methodist, St. Michaels, Canfield Christian and Calvary Baptist) that provides food to needy families in Mahoning County.

The band, under the direction of Anthony Cebriak, will be performing a variety of music that will include marches, classical and Dixieland styles. The band rehearses every Tuesday evening at Canfield High School; musicians from the entire Valley are welcome to participate. The band performs at several area nursing homes, during the summer in area parks and presents two indoor concerts.
