men’s rally
A celebration and challenge
The Men’s Rally in the Valley will be a one-day program of speakers, music and multi- media presentations, similar to a Promise Keepers event. The rally will aim to motivate Youngstown-area Christian men to a closer fellowship with God and each other.
Date and place: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 8 at the Covelli Centre in downtown Youngstown.
Program: The rally will include a mix of local and nationally prominent speakers, as well as worship music and multimedia presentations.
Theme: “A Challenge to Men” is the theme. Rally organizers believe that although tens of thousands of Youngstown-area men profess the Christian faith, they need to make a genuine commitment to follow Jesus Christ as the Lord in their lives. Men will be challenged to “walk the walk” of a Christian every day.
Organizers: Men of Faith, an informal group of Youngstown-area Christian men, and Oak Springs Ministries, a tax-exempt nonprofit organization based in Carrollton, Ohio. For information, contact Walter “Bing” Newton at (330) 427-6578 or the Rev. David Moncrief of Triedstone Baptist Church, (330) 744-8103.
Donations and sponsorships: To keep the cost of attending Men’s Rally in the Valley as low as possible, funds are being raised through donations. Donations to Oak Springs Ministries, a 501(c)3 organization, are tax-deductible. Visit the Web Site: www.mensrally.org. Donations are being coordinated by Ed Bernat at (330) 702-1951 and John Locicero at (330) 457-9325.
