Corso earns Scouting’s highest honor

Dustin J. Corso, a son of Dom and Daisy Corso of Boardman, has received his Eagle Scout award, Boy Scouting’s highest honor, at a court-of-honor ceremony.

Dustin is a member of Troop 54, which meets at Heritage Presbyterian Church in Youngstown, and his scoutmaster is Dave Chauvin.

He earned 27 merit badges and has served as the patrol leader and den chief. His other awards were the Pope Pius XII, Good Turn for America and the Mile Swim award.

His Eagle Scout service project was constructing a Veterans Memorial in front of the city hall in Campbell. Corso planned and organized the memorial, which was dedicated on Veterans Day to honor all veterans who served in the military.

He is a senior at Boardman High School and is a baseball player. He is a member of the high school Industrial Arts Club and has received numerous welding awards. He is an altar server at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown.
