Cartwright chosen as trustee chairwoman

Marie Cartwright will be the township trustee chairwoman for 2010.

She was chosen by fellow trustees Tony Bettile and Martha Zarlenga during Monday’s reorganization session.

Cartwright said the board also set a meeting time of 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. The first regular meeting will be Tuesday at Canfield Township Hall, 21 S. Broad St.

The trustees also passed a resolution upholding a township parking ban established in 2009 that states no one is allowed to park on the street when it snows, she said.

She said the township also is looking to fill two volunteer positions — a resident representative for the Cardinal Joint Fire District and an alternate for the zoning appeals board — and a part-time position as a coordinator for the township’s Green Team recycling program.
