Drug possession: Police charged Thomas J. Tate, 34, 3575 Meander Reserve Circle, Canfield with two counts of drug abuse after he picked up a package at the Canfield Post Office, 44 N. Broad Street that contained a DVD and 35, 7.5-mg tablets of hydrocodone and 31 tablets of 10-mg hydrocodone. Local police had been asked to join an investigation of drug possession at the post office by the Cleveland postal inspector and a representative of the Cleveland BCI (Bureau of Criminal Investigation.) The local post inspector said a woman from the Meander Reserve address had called multiple times about the whereabouts of similar packages, which were received for the address two to three times a week.

Warrant: Police arrested Amirah Erin Whisenant, 26, of 4531 Woodhurst Drive, Austintown, on a warrant for failure to pay on a Canfield Mayor’s Court warrant. She posted a partial $20 payment and was given a new Mayor’s Court date.
