School bus crash in Warren sends students to hospitals

WARREN — Several Warren G. Harding High School students were taken to area hospitals, at least one by ambulance, for treatment after their school bus collided with the back of a minivan at the intersection of Summit Street and Parkman Road on the city’s northwest side.

The bus was westbound on Summit transporting students to the northwest area from Harding when the crash occurred at about 2:45 p.m. today.

Fifteen students were on the bus, said schools Superintendent Kathryn Hellweg, who said that one student was taken to a hospital by ambulance, and several others taken to hospitals to be checked. She said late this afternoon she did not know how many students were taken to hospitals nor the extent of any of the injuries.
