Hubbard Township elects officials
staff report
HUBBARD — The township board of trustees elected Thomas Jacobs chairman of the board and Fred Hanley vice chairman. Joseph Gleydura is the third trustee and Sue Ann Goterba the fiscal officer.
In other action at the trustees’ reorganization meeting at the township administration building, trustees appointed James Fairbanks of Bedford Road as the newest member representing the township before the Eagle Joint Fire District.
The township received a state grant for $144,684 that will be used to pave Shaffer and North Fox North roads and Morningside, Shadyside and Elmwood drives.
Trustees approved a one-year property-tax holiday for all lighting districts in the township except the recently formed Ruth Street District. The tax holiday resulted from savings in those districts because of improved lighting systems.
It will be reflected in property tax duplicates in the first property-tax collection this year.
Trustees also announced that residents may drop off Christmas trees at Hubbard Township Road Department service lot, 2600 Elmwood Drive, through Jan. 23.
