jRemember Elliot Yamin, who finished third behind Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee on “American Idol” in 2006? The soulful Yamin will be at Altar Bar, a nightclub located in a former church at 1620 Penn Ave., in the Strip District in Pittsburgh. The all-ages show starts at 7 p.m. Thursday. The old Stevenson School in Masury sat empty for a while, but now it’s being reborn. Already located in the building is Stevenson Inn and Restaurant, featuring American, Italian and Middle Eastern cuisine. Located in the former auditorium, the superbly renovated space is one of the more unique dining rooms in the Mahoning Valley. After the dinner rush Saturday, the Hern Brothers Band will take the stage, which has been left intact, at 9:30 p.m. The Stevenson is at 1144 Broadway Ave.; it’s located just off state Route 62.
