DHL pilots to share in settlement

WILMINGTON, Ohio (AP) — ABX parent Air Transport Services Group says a deal has been reached to distribute $75 million to pilots who lost their jobs in southwest Ohio when DHL shipping operations were relocated.

The severance agreement between ABX and DHL disburses the money to the pilots’ pension fund and for severance benefits.

Package delivery company DHL Express closed its air shipping facility in Wilmington and moved it to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, more than 50 miles away.

As a result, most of 8,000 Wilmington Air Park employees lost their jobs.

Air Transport Services Group says the severance deal will help hundreds of ABX Air pilots.
