One dead, two injured in Niles house fire
NILES — Norman Henninger, 77, of 122 S. Butler St., died in a fire at his residence early Sunday. Niles Fire Department was called out at 3:08 a.m. and remained on the scene for four hours.
Also injured in the fire were Alberta Henninger, 75, Norman’s wife, and Clarence Emerson, 89. Authorities didn’t know whether or how Emerson might be related.
Alberta Henninger was listed in serious condition at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown today and Emerson was in fair condition at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren.
The two-story residence is believed to be a total loss, the fire department reported. The state fire marshal was at the scene; the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Trumbull County coroner’s office said a cause of death for Norman Henninger is pending.
