SENIOR CITIZENS | Meetings, activities announced

AARP 3104

• Canfield Chapter 3104, AARP, will meet at 1 p.m. Monday at Canfield Presbyterian Church. Blood pressure screenings will be available from noon until time for the meeting. On the agenda is the installation of officers. Dues will be collected. The directors will meet at 10 a.m. Jan. 18 at the church.

• Youngstown State University Retirees monthly breakfast will take place at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Denny’s restaurant on Route 224 in Boardman. All retirees and their friends are welcome.

GIRARD

• Girard Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the senior center, 16 N. State St. January birthdays and anniversaries will be celebrated, and Mary Dellesky, 2009 Senior of the Year, will be recognized. Dues will be collected, and bingo will be played.

LOWELLVILLE

• Lowellville Senior Citizens will have their monthly meeting at noon Tuesday in the Lowellville City Hall conference room. President Delores Romeo will preside. For reservations call Janet Davanzo at (330) 793-3176. Lunch will be provided by Phyllis Nolfi of Gianna’s Catering. Birthdays and anniversaries for December and January will be acknowledged. Membership renewal is open from January until April and new members are welcome. For more information and to report illness or deaths call Mary Mascarella, Sunshine chairman, at (330) 536-8748. Bingo will follow the meeting.

ST. NICHOLAS

• St. Nicholas Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Jan. 12 in the Great Hall for a luncheon and meeting with Laverne Cox presiding. Reservations are required by Wednesday; send a check for $8, payable to St. Nicholas Seniors Citzens, to Lora Opsitnik, 138 Iroquois St., Struthers, OH 44471. Dues are $5 per person and are payable this month. New members are welcome.

• Steelworkers Retirees Local Union 1330 and 1331 will meet at 1 p.m. Monday at the Italian-American Veterans Centre, 113. S. Meridian Road. Refreshments will be served. New members are welcome.
