Butler 80, Wisconsin-Milwaukee 67

INDIANAPOLIS — Gordon Hayward grabbed a double-double, scoring 16 points and pulling down 10 rebounds, to lead Butler. The Bulldogs (10-4, 3-0 Horizon) took the lead about 4 1/2 minutes into the game and never gave it back. The team shot 58 percent from the field in the second half and were up by as many as 19 points with less than six minutes to go. The Bulldogs’ Shelvin Mack led the game in scoring with 25 points, while Shawn Vanzant came off the bench to add 12. Anthony Hill led the Panthers (8-7, 1-3) with 18 points and helped them have a 38-21 advantage from the bench. Starter James Eayrs added 11 points.

Wright State 64, Illinois-Chicago 47

CHICAGO — Vaughn Duggins scored 17 points to lead Wright State. Todd Brown scored 13 points and Cory Cooperwood 10 points and seven rebounds for the Raiders (10-5, 3-1 Horizon). Wright State led 29-25 at the half, then shot 58 percent from the field in the second half and built its lead up to 25 points with under four minutes to play. The Raiders finished at 46 percent for the game. Zavion Neely led the Flames (5-9, 1-3) with 14 points. Illinois-Chicago shot 41 percent in the first half but went just 7-for-28 (25 percent) from the field after halftime to finish the game at 31 percent. Wright State finished with a 38-29 rebounding edge.

Detroit 59, Loyola-Chicago 42

CHICAGO — Detroit snapped Loyola of Chicago’s seven-game winning streak. The Titans (10-5, 3-1 Horizon) trailed by three at halftime but opened the second half on a 12-2 run to take a 32-25 lead. A tip-in by Andy Polka brought Loyola (11-3, 2-2) within a basket, 34-32, with 13 minutes remaining, but Detroit outscored the Ramblers 25-10 the rest of the way. Loyola made only 5 of 25 shots in the second half. Eli Holman scored 14 points and Thomas Kennedy added 10 for Detroit. Terrance Hill had 14 points for Loyola, which lost for the first time at home this season. Polka and Walt Gibler added nine points each.
