CANFIELD — “An Insider’s Guide to Ireland” will be presented by Brigid Kennedy from 10 to 11 a.m. March 10 at the Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields Road. Learn about Irish language, literature and culture in the presentation. Kennedy has a master’s degree in Irish studies from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and has taught Irish culture courses at John Carroll University. Tourism numbers

MAMMOTH CAVE, Ky. (AP) — Officials with Mammoth Cave National Park say 2009 was the best year for tourism at the park in almost a decade. In a news release, park officials said more than 403,000 people went on a cave tour at the park last year. , and an additional 100,000 used the park for other recreational activities.

There is a fee for cave tours, but Mammoth Cave National Park does not charge an entrance fee. The park has 23 miles of front country trails, more than 60 miles of interconnected back country trails and 31 miles of the Green and Nolin rivers.

The Mammoth Cave system is the world’s longest known cave system at more than 367 miles.
