Furnishing firearms to a minor: The city’s juvenile officer was informed a 16-year-old Cardinal Drive boy had a rifle and a handgun. The matter was reported to the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department since the boy lived in the township, and an investigation was started. Police learned that the guns were sold to the teen by another 16-year-old boy.

Feb. 18

Theft: $17 was taken from a teaching assistant’s purse at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road. Police arrested a 17-year-old Youngstown male in the theft.

Feb. 19

Disorderly conduct: Police charged two female students in a fight at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, one a minor, and the other Briawna Gray, 18, of 63 Notre Dame Drive, Campbell.

Theft: A package was picked up by a woman who claimed to have been sent by the owner at the UPS Store, 415 E. Main St. The package, containing $50 in merchandise and a gift card, was reported stolen by the real owner, who came in later in the day to claim the package.

Theft: A female reported that $25 to $30 and other items had been taken from her purse, which she discovered as she was leaving Studio Oxygen, 548 E. Main St.

Drug abuse: Police charged Kyler Sparks, 19, of 1810 4th Street, New Brighton, Pa., with drug abuse, obtaining and possession after her arrest on Main Street. A small amount of suspected marijuana was found in her possession, police said.

Drug abuse, paraphernalia, wrongful entrustment: Police found a blue glass pipe, a small bag of suspected marijuana in it, and a suspected marijuana cigarette in a car after a traffic stop on East Main Street. Police charged Matthew A. Scott, 24, of Akron, with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia, and Alisha Snow, 20, of Tallmadge, with wrongful entrustment.

Falsification: Police arrested Adrian L. Burt, 35, of Canton, and Nakeya Jones, 30, also of Canton, on charges of falsification after a stop on West Main Street.

Feb. 21

Drug abuse/paraphernalia: Police arrested Robert K. Baird, 21, of 12692 Kent Road, Salem, on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse after a traffic stop on Lisbon Street. Police said they found a blue metal smoke pipe with suspected marijuana residue, a metal grinder with suspected marijuana residue, two packs of rolling papers and eight suspected marijuana cigarettes.
