While the seemingly never-ending onslaught of snow has kept most of us in hibernation, the storms have been a winter blast for the more creative members of the Boardman community.

For P.J. and Stacie Rosenburg, the February snowfalls have been an outlet for their creativity. The pair has built snow sculptures of characters “Alice in Wonderland” in their front lawn on Crestline Place.

The sculptures, which are spray-painted with a mixture of food coloring and Kool-Aid, are replicas of Alice, the Cheshire Cat and the Caterpillar, along with a few mushrooms.

“We started by building the Cheshire Cat,” P.J. said. “Since there was so much snow, we were like, well let’s keep going.”

They chose the “Alice in Wonderland” theme because they are both fans of the story, P.J. said. It was just a happy coincidence that the new version of the film will be released Mar. 5, he said.

“The nature of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ makes people question reality,” P.J. said. “So when they are driving down the street, people think ‘What the heck is going on over there?’”
