Big snow storm expected to hit northeast Ohio
CLEVELAND (AP) — Forecasters say Ohio’s northeast corner could get dumped with a foot of snow or more from the tail-end of yet another big storm headed for Northeast cities such as Philadelphia.
Light snow fell overnight in Cleveland, but the National Weather Service says there’s much more to come.
Seven counties in a region stretching from Cleveland to the Pennsylvania line are under a 24-hour winter storm warning beginning at 4 p.m. today. The weather service says 8 to 15 inches of snow are possible, and wind gusts to 30 mph are likely to cause problems from blowing snow and drifts.
As of early today, Cleveland already had received 20.1 inches of snow during February, above the month’s average of 12.4 inches. The city’s record snowfall for February is 39.1 inches.
