MEN

Presidents’ Athletic Conference tournament

No. 5 Washington & Jefferson 80, No. 4 Thiel 77, OT

W&J outscored the Tomcats 11-8 in the extra session. Leading the way for Washington & Jefferson was freshman F Akram Hidmi with a career-high 28 points and a team-high eight rebounds. For Thiel, freshman G Blair Rozenblad (Kennedy Catholic) posted team-best totals of 26 points and 12 rebounds.

No. 3 Bethany 82, No. 6 Westminster 73

The Bison took control late in the second half, outscoring the Titans 49-33 in the second period. Four Bethany players scored in double figures, with junior F Ryan McFadden pacing the team with 22 points. For Westminster, senior F Ryne Murray led four double-digit scorers with 17 points while adding a team-high 11 rebounds for a double-double.

No. 2 Thomas More 84, No. 7 Waynesburg 71

The Yellow Jackets (2-21) trailed by just seven points (76-69) with 1:49 to play. However, the Thomas More defense forced 26 Waynesburg turnovers en route to the victory. Leading the TMC offensive attack was junior F Aaron Miller with a game-high 19 points. The Yellow Jackets had four players post double-digit scoring efforts in defeat, with junior G Erik Noone leading the way with 15 markers.

North Coast Athletic Conference tournament

Wittenberg 85, Hiram 63

SPRINGFIELD — Hiram fell behind early and couldn’t erase a 17-point first half deficit in a quarterfinal game of the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament. The loss ended the season for the Terriers (12-14), while the Tigers (20-6) advanced to Friday’s semifinals. Wittenberg was led by Clayton Black with a game-high 17 points and a game-tying high eight rebounds. Hiram was led by junior guard Deon Milton with 12 points.

WOMEN

PAC tournament

No. 1 Thomas More 75, No. 8 Thiel 51

The three-time defending PAC champion Saints raced to a 25-point first half lead (37-12) and were not threatened the rest of the way, as Thomas More clinched hosting rights for the weekend PAC “final four.” For TMC, five players scored in double figures in a balanced offensive attack, led by freshman G Chelsea Tolliver with 12 points. For the Tomcats, sophomore F Ashley Davis bucketed a game-high 14 points, while freshman F Kelly Barzak (Howland) posted 11 points and eight rebounds in the loss.

No. 2 Washington & Jefferson 66, No. 7 Bethany 65

Facing elimination, W&J senior PG Kennan Killeen hit a driving baseline layup with 4.4 seconds to play to put the Presidents back up by one. W&J had three double-digit scorers in the win, paced by Killeen with 14 points. Bethany was led by sophomore F Katelynn Heckathorn, who had game-high totals of 28 points and 14 rebounds,

No. 6 Chatham 63, No. 3 Grove City 54

The Cougars earned their first PAC tournament win by outscoring GCC 40-28 in the decisive second period. For Chatham, leading the way was junior F Brittany Brown with team-high totals of 19 points and eight rebounds. For Grove City, four players recorded double figure scoring totals, led by sophomore G Megan Gebrosky (14 points).

No. 4 Westminster 55, No. 5 Waynesburg 51

The Yellow Jackets had the ball trailing by three in the closing seconds, but the Titans forced a turnover to clinch the win. Senior G Amy Dolsak (McDonald) led a balanced Titan scoring attack with 12 points, while junior G Kaitlin McCarthy (Lowellville) posted a solid line with eight points, nine rebounds and a team-high five assists. For the Yellow Jackets, freshman G/F Brittany Spencer recorded team-high totals of 15 points and eight rebounds.

Ohio Athletic Conference tournament

No. 2 Mount Union 59, No. 7 Otterbein 56

ALLIANCE — Freshman point guard Rosa LaMattina’s 14 points and key defense down the stretch keyed Mount Union. Otterbein (11-15) was led by Katy Miller and Karli Volkmer who each had 13 points.

NCAC tournament

Wittenberg 59, Hiram 43

SPRINGFIELD — The Tigers had two players score in double figures led by Stephanie Boardman with a game-tying high 15 points on five-of-16 shooting (31.3 percent) and a game-high 17 rebounds. Carrie Dyer rounded out the high scorers for the Tigers with 13 points. Hiram had one player score in double figures in senior All-NCAC forward Ashley Drum with 15 points to go along with 11 rebounds.
