Man charged with sex with 4-year-old

NEW CASTLE, PA — State police said a Shenango Township man was arrested on charges of illegal sexual contact with a 4-year-old girl.

Charles J. Catalano, 68, of Toney Street, was charged with two counts each of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor and sexual assault. He was also charged with single counts of corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children.

Police said the assaults occurred over a two-year period from June 2007 to November 2009.

Catalano is being held in Lawrence County Jail on $10,000 bond.
