Columbiana teen shot this morning
LISBON — A 17-year-old boy is recovering today in a Pittsburgh hospital where he was taken after being shot in the chest about 2:30 a.m. today.
His name was not released by authorities, and his condition was not immediately known.
The Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office said David J.C. Duffy, 18, of Steubenville Pike Road Lot 3, fired one shot from a 9mm handgun that struck the youth in the chest.
The victim was taken to state Route 518 home, where Lisbon and West Point Fire Department first responders went to help.
Duffy is charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony.
Detectives and agents of the Ohio Bureau of Identification and Investigation were still on the shooting scene today looking for additional evidence.
