AKRON — St. Bernard Catholic Church was the setting at 2 p.m. Sept. 5 for the wedding of Stacy N. Yanek, daughter of Tom and Janice Yanek, 740 W. Pidgeon Road, Salem, and Scot W. Gill, son of William and Margaret Gill of Canton.

A reception followed at Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights.

The bride’s strapless taffeta ball gown was enhanced with lace and beading. It featured a pickup overskirt, peekaboo underskirt and a chapel train.

The honor attendants, Alisa LaPlante and Jessica Wells, wore chocolate brown gowns, and champagne gowns were worn by the bridesmaids, Jayma Wells, Jessica Cosgrove, Lindsey Violi, Courtney Copeland and Gina LaPlante.

Best men were Jayson Bendik and Brice Civiello, and ushers were Greg and Brandon Gill, Steve Vitangeli, Brian Ruch, David Forrer and Scott Yanek. Junior groomsman was Will Frankel, and ring bearer was Dylan Roepke.

The bride received a bachelor’s degree in biology from John Carroll University and an associate in nursing from Aultman College of Nursing. She is a registered nurse in surgical intensive care at Cleveland Clinic and will receive a master’s in nursing for family nurse practitioner from Kent State.

The groom graduated from Mount Union College with a bachelor’s in business and from Case Western Reserve University with a master’s in business administration. He is a business analyst with the Stark Truss Co.

After a honeymoon in the Turks and Caicos islands, the Gills live in Copley.
