VETERANS

Korean War Vets to meet

AUSTINTOWN — State Sen. Joe Schiavoni of Canfield, D-33rd, state Rep. Ron Gerberry of Austintown, D-59th, and Mahoning County Commissioner Anthony Traficanti are scheduled guests at the Monday meeting of Korean War Veterans Chapter 137 at 6:30 p.m. at American Legion Post 301, Oakwood Avenue.

Schiavoni and Gerberry will be recognized for being instrumental in the state House and Senate naming the entire length of Interstate 680 in Mahoning County the Korean War Veterans Memorial Highway; as well as naming portions of I-680 in honor of educator William Holmes McGuffey and Navy Corpsman Richard “Doc” Powell.
