American Girls SFlbreturn to The Valley

vindicator staff report

For the second year in a row, the American Girl Fashion Show and Luncheon will offer a fun-filled afternoon for young girls, and their families and friends, thanks to the efforts of the Angels of Easter Seals.

This year’s two-day event is March 13 and 14 at Mr. Anthony’s, 7440 South Ave. in Boardman. Shows are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day; doors will open a half-hour before each show.

There will be refreshments and door prizes, and the young girls attending are encouraged to take their American Girl Dolls with them.

Proceeds will benefit the Easter Seals of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.

About the show

The presentation of historical to contemporary fashions will allow the audience to learn how clothing has changed over the years to reflect history, culture and individual styles.

Fashions will include historical clothing resembling outfits that might have been worn by American Girl character dolls Kaya, Felicity, Josefina, Addy, Samantha, Kit and Molly, along with contemporary “Just Like You” outfits for older girls and Bitty Baby fashions for little ones.

Local girls will serve as models, and junior and senior girls from Ursuline High School will narrate the programs. Area high school girls will help backstage as dressers, sell raffle tickets and serve as hostesses.

There will be raffles for the following:

UJust Like You Doll with salon chair and hair-care kit
