YOUNGSTOWN — Police are sorting through the details of a shooting that left one East Side neighborhood riddled with bullets and one man hospitalized.

According to police, three people, including a 23-year-old Warren man, were visiting a home in the Rockford Village housing complex Thursday evening.

When the group left the home and began to drive up Buckeye Court toward Victor Avenue, someone began shooting at the car.

One occupant of the car told police he heard about 30 shots fired from what seemed to be multiple guns.

The 23-year-old Warren man was shot in the shoulder and taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center. His wounds are not life-threatening.

Meanwhile, a 31-year-old Victor Avenue man told police he was standing in his kitchen Thursday evening with two children, one 4 and another 15, when bullets began coming through the walls.

No one inside the home was hit, but police did make note of damage caused by the gunfire.
