South Avenue shooting victim is from Pennsylvania

YOUNGSTOWN — The man killed in a triple shooting on the city’s South Side has been identified.

Mark A. Trulson, 32, of Hartstown, Pa., died just before 11 p.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Health Center of a gunshot wound to the head, according to a report from the Mahoning County Coroner’s Office.

Trulson, Michelle Difrischia and Charles Gerh were shot around 9:40 p.m. Friday while in a pick-up truck outside the South Avenue Gas Mart on South Avenue.

According to the coroner’s report, Trulson has been involved in an altercation on South at Williamson Avenue, which ended with the shooting at the convenience store, at 2325 South.

All three victims were taken to St. E’s.

A hospital spokeswoman said condition reports for Difrischia and Gehr won’t be released to the public because they are trauma victims, but city police said Friday one was shot in the arm and the other in the back.

Trulson’s murder is the eighth in the city this year. There were three homicides in the city at this time last year.
