Leadership Mahoning Valley applications available

Applications for the Leadership Mahoning Valley class of 2010-2011 are now available and may be submitted through May 1, 2010.

The program provides a general overview of the Mahoning Valley, an opportunity for increased understanding of key community issues and the potential to develop effective working relationships with other civic leaders.

Participants complete a 10-month program, which includes an opening retreat in the fall and eight monthly daylong sessions that focus on major community systems such as education, health, human service, government, justice, labor, business, media and quality of life.

A selection committee will choose up to 40 participants for the 2010-2011 class.

Selection criteria includes recognized leadership ability in the applicant’s field and a demonstrated commitment to community service.

Candidates may request applications directly or be nominated to apply by their employer, a program graduate or others.

Those not selected are eligible to reapply in subsequent years.

The tuition fee of $2,000 covers all program costs, including retreat accommodations and program meals.

Selected applicants will be billed for tuition.
