STRONGSVILLE — The engagement of Julie Arlene Kocka, a daughter of James and Laura Kocka, all of 16497 Morning Star Drive, and Jonathan Frank Weaver, a son of Frank and Marilyn Weaver, all of 8501 Pilgrim Ave., Chagrin Falls, is announced by her parents.

Miss Kocka graduated from Hiram College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and from the University of Central Michigan with a master’s in sports management. She is a sales representative with the Monsters Hockey Team in Cleveland.

Mr. Weaver received a bachelor’s degree in religious studies from Hiram College and is pursuing a master of divinity degree at Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus. He is an interim pastor with Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Chagrin Falls.

Plans have been made for the couple to be united in marriage at 4 p.m. July 24 during an open ceremony at Bethel Lutheran Church in Boardman. Their invitation-only reception will take place that evening at the Holiday Inn in Boardman.
