NEW YORK — An army of fans went out to support Sade’s latest CD, “Soldier of Love,” giving the group its first No. 1 disc in 20 years. “Soldier of Love” sold 501,665 units in its first week, debuting on top of the Billboard 200 album charts, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The group is led by 51-year-old Sade Adu.

Rip Torn hearing delayed

LITCHFIELD, Conn. — A judge in Connecticut has postponed actor Rip Torn’s next court appearance until March 9, citing a scheduling conflict. The actor was to appear in court Wednesday to enter pleas to burglary and firearms charges. He is accused of breaking into a bank in his hometown of Salisbury last month with a loaded revolver while intoxicated.
