Mark Shapiro to become Indians team president


CLEVELAND (AP) — Indians general manager Mark Shapiro will be promoted to team president after the season and be succeeded as GM by his assistant, Chris Antonetti.

Paul Dolan, son of owner Larry Dolan, will shift from president to chief executive officer, a title held by his father.

The changes were announced today, on the eve of spring training. Shapiro and Antonetti are starting their ninth seasons in their current roles.
