Body in Liberty ID’d

LIBERTY — Geno Alexander, 42, was identified as the man found Tuesday night at his residence, 3127 Hadley Ave., after township police responded to a “check the welfare” call from a neighbor who had not seen the man in a couple of weeks. When police arrived and looked into a window of the house, they saw body parts strewn around.

Police Chief Richard Tisone said a large pit bull and a large Rottweiler were shot by police because they were vicious. The Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County was called and rescued a large black dog, possibly a Lab mix.

Tisone said a family member told police that Alexander had a medical condition and was sick. The Trumbull County coroner has the body, which was in a decomposed state. Police did not speculate on how long Alexander had been dead.

Gas-station robbery

BOARDMAN — An employee of an East Midlothian Boulevard gas station reported the business was robbed at gunpoint by two masked men.

About 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, police received a call of a robbery in progress at Speedway.

The clerk told police she was inside the store when the two men came in. One of them held a handgun on the employee and two patrons while the other walked behind the counter, told the clerk to open the cash drawer and removed cash and six packs of cigarettes.

Both men fled the store, headed south. A similar crime was reported Sunday at the Shell gas station on Glenwood Avenue.
