City moves forward to build water tower

YOUNGSTOWN — The city’s board of control approved a $2,655,000 contract for the construction of a 1.5-million-gallon water tank to improve water pressure to its customers on Youngstown’s South Side and in Boardman.

The board awarded the contract Thursday to Caldwell Tank Inc. of Louisville, Ky., which submitted the lowest proposal. The other proposal, for $2,686,000, came from CB&I, a company based in the Netherlands.
