Dead man found in Liberty identified
LIBERTY — Geno Alexander, 43, was identified as the man found Tuesday night at his residence, 3127 Hadley Ave., after township police responded to a “check the welfare” call from a neighbor who had not seen the man in a couple of weeks. When police arrived and looked into a window of the house, they saw body parts strewn around.
Police Chief Richard Tisone said a large pit bull and a large Rottweiler were shot by police because they were vicious. The Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County was called and rescued a large black dog, possibly a Lab mix.
Tisone said a family member told police that Alexander had a medical condition and was sick. The body was to be taken to the Trumbull County coroner’s office today. Police did not speculate how long Alexander had been dead.
