No. 11 Michigan State 72, Indiana 58

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Draymond Green scored 14 points and Kalin Lucas added 13 to lead Michigan State. It was the second straight win for the Spartans (21-6, 11-3), who took over sole possession of first place in the Big Ten. No. 9 Ohio State trails Michigan State by one-half game and hosts No. 4 Purdue tonight. Verdell Jones had 20 points and Christian Watford added 14 for the Hoosiers (9-16, 3-10), who lost their seventh straight. Indiana coach Tom Crean has lost all three head-to-head matchups with Tom Izzo, who had Crean on his Michigan State staff for four seasons. The Spartans dominated inside, outscoring Indiana 40-18 in the paint. They converted 16 turnovers into 23 points and limited the Hoosiers to 34.9 percent shooting from the field.

Michigan 80, Iowa 78, OT

IOWA CITY, Iowa — DeShawn Sims scored 27 points and Michigan came from behind in the final seconds of regulation and again in overtime to beat Iowa. Manny Harris added 20 points for Michigan (13-12, 6-7 Big Ten), which trailed by five with less than 20 seconds left in regulation and was down three in overtime before hitting two big shots. Stu Douglass made a 3-pointer to tie it at 72 and Sims canned a long fadeaway from the left side for a 74-72 lead. Michigan’s Laval Lucas-Perry followed with two free throws to make it 76-72 and the Wolverines held on. In regulation, Sims hit a 3 from the top of the key with 6.1 seconds left to tie it. Aaron Fuller led Iowa (9-18, 3-11) with career highs of 30 points and 13 rebounds. Matt Gatens scored 21 and Culley Payne 13.

Wisconsin-Green Bay 74, Cleveland State 57

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Randy Berry had 19 points and 11 rebounds to lift Wisconsin-Green Bay. The Phoenix (18-10, 10-6) trailed 32-26 at the break. Six minutes into the second half, Wisconsin-Green Bay was ahead 41-39 and then went on a 22-2 run over the next seven minutes to put the game away. The big second-half showing — the Phoenix shot 67 percent from the field (18-for-27) — lifted Green Bay into third place in the Horizon League, a half-game ahead of Cleveland State (13-14, 9-6). The Phoenix finished at 53 percent shooting for the night while the Vikings made just 33 percent in the second half and finished at 41 percent. Rahmon Fletcher scored 17 points and Bryquis Perine had 14 points and eight rebounds for Green Bay. Jeremy Montgomery and Aaron Pogue had 12 points each for the Vikings. Trevon Harmon added 10.
