McDonald 68, Southern 51

McDONALD — Nick Rota scored eight of his 19 points in the fourth quarter as McDonald pulled away to clinch its second straight outright Inter Tri-County League Tier Two title. Devin Bansberg scored 17 points and Matthias Tayala had 16 for the Blue Devils (17-0, 13-0), who outscored Southern 20-9 in the fourth quarter. With three more wins, the Blue Devils would clinch their second straight undefeated season and third in four years. “It won’t be easy because we have some tough games left, but it’d be a pretty exciting thing,” said McDonald coach Jeff Rasile. “My kids work hard and we expect to win.” Brett Hunt scored 12 points and Gabe Martin had 11 for the Indians (11-7, 7-6).

Poland 107, Niles 73

POLAND — David Baker scored 21 points with nine rebounds for Poland (16-1, 5-1 AAC Red), which led 33-16 after one quarter. Niko Fatimus added 19 points, Luke Wollet had 12 points with 14 assists, Ben Donlow had 10 points with 13 rebounds and John Price had 10 points. For Niles (9-10, 2-5), Ryan Frantz scored 18 points and Joe Moss had 17.

Champion 72, Girard 50

Billy Yartz’s 20 points included five 3-pointers for the Golden Flashes (5-14, 1-8 AAC Blue). Ross Farmer scored 16 points, Ian Barnes 14 and Dan Gelet 10. For the Indians (4-14), Mat Pagano scored 18 points and A.J. Weibel 11.

Lakewood St. Edward 75, Ursuline 44

LAKEWOOD — Delbert Love led St. Edward with 16 points. For the Irish (4-12), Ryan Strollo scored 14 points, DeVonte Jenkins 13 and Khiree Gregory 10,

Salem 47, Lakeview 35

SALEM — Trent Toothman had 10 points, five rebounds and three assists to lead Salem (8-8, 3-3 AAC White), while Ryan Wolfgang also had 10 points. For Lakeview (3-16, 1-6), Zach McDivitt had seven points.

South Range 70, Leetonia 67

NORTH LIMA — Kyle Seaver led the Raiders (12-6) with 18 points while Brandon Pluchinsky scored 13. For the Bears (3-14), Cody Stokes scored 20 points, Justin Colella 18, Nick Altomare 12 and Dan Davanzo 10.

Lowellville 60, Heartland Christian 44

LOWELLVILLE — Pat Minnie led the Rockets (13-4) with 16 points, including 10 in the second quarter. He also grabbed seven boards. The Rockets made 11 3-pointers. Mauro Amendola. He finished with 11 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Michael Stearns led the Lions with a game-high 17 points.

Lisbon 73, Jackson-Milton 67

LISBON — Twenty-five points by Todd Padurean was enough to lift the Blue Devils (5-12) past the Blue Jays (3-15) despite a 30-point performance by Bobby Schnellback. William Bowyer also had 18 points for the Blue Devils.

Lordstown 49, Western Reserve 45

LORDSTOWN — With three minutes remaining, Jordan Prox’s three-point play put Lordstown up by two, then the senior hit a 3-pointer to complete a six-point spurt. Sophomore Zack Wells had 15 points, while junior Bill Wright added 14 for the Red Devils (7-10). Barker’s 16 points paced Western Reserve (4-14).

GIRLS

Poland 64, Niles 27

POLAND — Leanna Yeager scored 13 points and made 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs (9-11, 2-6 All-American Conference Red Tier). Laura Marciella netted 12 points with four 3-pointers. Lauren Tadla led the Bulldogs with 13 rebounds. She also scored nine points. For the Red Dragons (0-19, 0-7), Megan Mcdermott scored six points.

Magnificat 66, Mooney 43

ROCKY RIVER — After falling behind, 35-23, Mooney was unable to reverse the trend against Magnificat (13-6). Megan Barilla had 12 points and Emily Sterba 11 for the Blue Streaks. Junior Elena Andino-Esparra had 12 points for Mooney (8-10).

Springfield 51, Liberty 38

LIBERTY — After a 13-day layoff, a sluggish Liberty team fell behind by 22 at halftime, then pulled within 10 in the fourth quarter before losing. Senior Ashley Davis and sophomore Brooke Schrieber had 14 points apiece, while senior Andria Lyons added 12 for Springfield (16-3). Sophomore Nay Nay Merriweather had 16 points for the Leopards (6-12). Also for Springfield, Kallie Rogers, a senior, had nine rebounds, while Schrieber grabbed eight caroms.

Lisbon 76, Jackson-Milton 24

LISBON — Mindy Jackson led the Blue Devils (13-6) with 23 points and six rebounds. Lauren Evans had 11 points including three 3-points. For the Bluejays (1-18), Katie Santor scored 12 points.

East Palestine 61, Wellsville 39

EAST PALESTINE — Brooke Gedeon’s 14 points paced East Palestine (8-11), which snapped a four-game losing streak. Also for the winners, Chelsea Stewart had 13 points, while Kali George had 10 points and nine rebounds. Meika Dalrymple and Mikyla Tipton had 10 points apiece for the Tigers (7-12).

Howland 64, Shaker Heights 43

SHAKER HEIGHTS — Olivia Nicholas had 19 points, Erika Nites 16 and Taylor Williams and Camille Cvengros 11 apiece for Howland, which has won five straight since a double OT loss to Canfield. Williams also had 17 of Howland 34 rebounds, while Nicholas had seven of her team’s 16 assists. Williams also had two of seven steals for Howland (17-3). Jordyn Peck’s 11 points paced Shaker Heights (11-8), which had 16 rebounds.

Ravenna 83, Southeast 39

RAVENNA — C. Berry and L. Tilden had 18 points apiece for Ravenna, which led at halftime, 49-9. Lauren Mulhollen’s 17 points paced Southeast.
