Speakers, topics set for session of Ohio Livestock Coalition

COLUMBUS —The Ohio Livestock Coalition will host its 13th Annual Meeting and Industry Symposium on April 8 at All Occasions Catering & Banquet in Waldo, Ohio.
The meeting will feature guest speakers including David Martosko, director of research for the Center for Consumer Freedom; Robert Boggs, director for the Ohio Department of Agriculture; and Scott Higgins, president and CEO for the American Dairy Association Mideast.
Speakers will present on topics related to proactive measures against extreme animal-rights groups, approaches to animal care and well-being, updates on the establishment of the Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board and maintenance of consumer confidence in animal agriculture.
Registration for the annual meeting is $35, which includes the price of the symposium and lunch and is due by March 25.
The OLC, formed in 1997, is a statewide trade organization consisting of diverse agriculture organizations and individual farmers committed to advancing environmentally friendly, socially responsible and economically viable livestock-farming practices.
