V&M Star project moving forward

YOUNGSTOWN — V&M Star Steel confirmed today that it is moving ahead with plans to build a “new state-of-the-art” rolling mill expansion project in Youngstown.

The company has considered the $970 million expansion project for more than a year to be built near its current facility on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Youngstown.

A new facility would employ about 400 workers in addition to V&M’s current mill that employs 450.

The company will provide more details at a 3 p.m. news conference at the DeBartolo Stadium Club on the Youngstown State University campus.
