Man shot in head dies, investigation under way

YOUNGSTOWN — Aaron Clinkscale, 30, of Rush Boulevard, died Friday in St. Elizabeth Health Center of a gunshot wound to the head suffered Thursday on the city’s South Side.

A Mahoning County coroner’s investigator said an autopsy was to be performed Tuesday.

The investigator said Clinkscale’s death is being investigated as a homicide, but his death has not yet been ruled a homicide.

City police said today they were not aware of Clinkscale’s death.

The victim was found shot and lying in the snow unconscious in front of a vacant house in the 300 block of Florida Avenue at 6:20 p.m. He was taken to St. Elizabeth for treatment.
