Gas company had been to the house that later blew up

POLAND — A spokeswoman for Dominion East Ohio Gas says the company had been called to the site of a Center Road Saturday house explosion earlier in the week and left the area safe.

Tracy Oliver said that the company went to the home at 2816 Center Road on Feb. 10 on a customer complaint of low pressure.

“Our technician went out there and did not find any problem with our equipment,” Oliver said.

Dominion is working with the Western Reserve Joint Fire District, trying to determine the cause of the Saturday explosion that leveled the house.

The homeowner, Janice Brahler, and her 17-year-old daughter, Kayla, escaped without injury. Five firefighters sustained minor injuries.
