The Boardman-Poland Junior Women’s League announces plans for its first St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

The event will benefit 11-year-old Paige Neville and help defray her medical expenses as she fights a rare vascular condition.

The celebration will take place March 13, beginning with a cocktail hour from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Georgetown, 5945 South Avenue in Boardman.

An Irish dinner buffet will be served at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for the event are $25 each. Providing entertainment will be The County Mayo Band, the Irish step dancers from the Burke School of Irish Dance, and bagpiper Stephen Sutherland Holter. Great prizes will be featured in the Chinese auction, a 50-50 raffle, Irish games and more.

Paige is a fifth-grader at McKinley Elementary in Poland. She lives with her mother, Gretchen, and her 13-year-old brother, Tony.

She was diagnosed in November 2009, and the condition has caused multiple complications in her vascular system. Because of blood clots in her leg, it became necessary for all the toes on her left foot to be amputated.

For more information about buying tickets for the event, or donating to the event or to the Chinese Auction, contact event chairwoman Patty Reese at (330) 792-6848. The deadline for purchasing tickets is March 5.
