Valentine’s Day won’t be forgotten by U.S. Army Staff. Sgt. Matthew Hale.

Preschoolers all joined in to create a huge red heart to send to Hale who is currently deployed to Afghanistan. He is a 2003 Boardman High School graduate and an alumni of Youngstown State University.

Students of Joy Bucci’s preschool class decorated small white hearts with their name and placed them all on a larger red heart.

Each student chose a color for their name and what decorations they wanted to use for the heart.

Hale is Bucci’s son-in-law and this is his second tour overseas.
