Jan. 21

Attempted burglary: Someone tried to enter a residence in the 7300 block of Sierra Madre Drive through a rear door.

Theft: A man around age 30 left TGI Fridays, 7165 Tiffany Blvd., without paying his $34.75 tab.

Criminal damaging: Someone intentionally drove over and damaged part of a lawn in the 300 block of Brainard Drive.

Burglary: Through the front door of a home in the 4800 block of Erie Street, though police found no signs of forced entry. A handgun and jewelry were stolen.

Theft/damage: A vehicle in the 5200 block of Old Oxford Lane had a window broken, and a small amount of money was taken.

Theft: Officers booked 18-year-old Ronald J. Duvall, 433 E. Marion Ave., Youngstown, and Justin A. Vasquez, 19, of 2719 Julian St., Youngstown, who were accused of stealing six articles of men’s clothing from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Identity fraud: A Forest Garden Drive man found out his credit card had been used to buy four articles of children’s clothing at a township store.

Theft: A 16-year-old Boardman boy was charged with stealing a $168 jacket from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.

Jan. 22

Theft/damage: A car’s window was smashed in the 300 block of West Midlothian Boulevard before money, gift cards, a purse and a cell-phone charger were removed.

Theft: Jeromy L. Medovich, 28, of 311 Fifth St., Niles, and 32-year-old Jared B. Wilson, 1550 Bonnie Brae Ave., Warren, were charged, accused in the theft of Sony PlayStation 3 games from Sears in the Southern Park Mall. Medovich also was wanted on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in court.

Arrest: A traffic stop on East Midlothian Boulevard resulted in the arrest of 38-year-old Nathaniel D. Clark III, 230 Norwood Ave., Youngstown. Clark was wanted by city police on a charge of failing to appear in court.

Theft: A Presidential Court woman reported her son’s medications stolen, as well as some of her jewelry.

Breaking and entering: A front window was smashed at Peskin Sign Co., 3991 Simon Road, though it appeared nothing was missing.

Jan. 23

Auto theft: A 1997 Honda Accord was stolen in the 800 block of Edenridge Drive.

Criminal damaging: Numerous scratches were on a car at a South Avenue motel. The damage estimate was $200.

Arrest: Authorities charged Erik G. Solosabal, 33, of 166 Locust Drive, Boardman, with vandalism, resisting arrest, criminal trespassing and obstructing official business after saying they noticed him trespassing at a Glendale Avenue residence. Police said they used a Taser because he was intoxicated, refused several times to obey commands and lunged at officers; Solosabal, who was taken to the Mahoning County jail on a $5,000 bond, also kicked and damaged a cruiser’s window, a report said.

Identity theft: A Windsor Road man learned his information had been used to open a cable account in Montgomery, Ala., and that it had a $200 balance.

Arrest: Police charged 28-year-old Jerome R. McGee of Market Street, Boardman, with criminal trespassing when, they said, he was asking for money at a nearby gas station despite having been issued a warning to stay off the premises.

Attempted theft: Two men tried to steal leather jackets and other property from Burlington Coat Factory, 529 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: Someone removed a $300 tailgate from a truck in the 4200 block of Simon Road.

Theft: A $99 corset was taken from Con-figure-ation in the Southern Park Mall.

Criminal damaging: A car’s front windshield was damaged in the 30 block of Centervale Avenue.

Theft/damage: Two car stereos and a checkbook were taken from a vehicle that sustained damage in the 6000 block of Glenridge Drive.

Assault: A 17-year-old girl reported seven people jumped, kicked, punched and knocked her to the ground at a Boardman-Poland Road eatery.

Jan. 24

Attempted burglary: Took place in the 6200 block of Appleridge Drive. Also, a next-door neighbor’s motion lights were tampered with.

Theft: Two people in their early 20s paid only $30 of a $63.38 food bill before leaving Smokey Bones Barbecue and Grill, 6651 South Ave.

Theft: Two women and a man left Smokey Bones without paying a $225 food bill.

Theft: A man and a woman stole women’s clothing from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall.

Burglary: Someone broke a rear bedroom window before stealing $12,200 worth of jewelry from an East Western Reserve Road home.

Domestic violence: Alexander J. Pascarella, 30, of 91 Roche Way, faced charges of domestic violence and disrupting public services, a felony, after his wife reported he had acted in a threatening manner at her residence and made several threats during an argument about property he wanted back. The Boardman man also took and refused to return the accuser’s cell phone as she tried to dial 911, a report said.

Jan. 25

Theft: Twenty gallons of gasoline were siphoned from a vehicle in the 5000 block of Market Street.

Aggravated menacing: A worker for a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant reported a co-worker threatened to kill him.

Burglary: Occurred at an apartment in the 5200 block of Allen Drive, where a 37-inch, flat-screen TV was taken.

Jan. 28

Burglary: To a home in the 2300 block of Hunters Ridge Drive through a basement window.

Misuse of a credit card: A Carter Circle man found out his credit-card number had been used without consent to make several online purchases.

Theft: Darell L. Perez, 24, of 147 Park Heights Ave., Youngstown, was charged in the theft of $382 worth of clothing from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Joshua J. Cogar, 23, of 3240 Susan Circle, Youngstown, was charged after $49 worth of merchandise was stolen from Macy’s, and he was given a criminal-trespassing warning.

Theft: A dog was stolen from Harbor Pet Center, 7338 Market St.

Burglary: Someone entered a residence in the 200 block of Melrose Avenue after breaking a rear-door window.

Arrest: Police offered 23-year-old Michael Mannor a ride to his home at 242 E. Avondale Ave. in Youngstown but arrested Mannor upon learning he was accused of failing to appear in court. He had been cited on a charge of fishing without a permit.

Theft: Three DVDs had been stolen from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road, resulting in a charge against 46-year-old Margaret R. Gregory, 4220 Pembrook Road, Austintown.

Theft: A woman’s wallet was stolen at a South Avenue fast-food restaurant.

Jan. 29

Theft: Two 16-year-old Struthers boys were charged with stealing a $55 pair of earrings from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Theft: Authorities booked two 15-year-old city girls accused of taking two shirts from Macy’s. Both were released to the custody of parents or guardians.

Theft: Jeffrey A. Waldele, 28, of 11499 New Buffalo Road, North Lima, was charged with theft and possession of criminal tools after a drill-bit set and an electrical panel were stolen from Home Depot, 7001 Southern Blvd. Waldele had cut open packaging to one of the items, a report said.

Identity fraud: An Applecrest Court man discovered his personal information had been used without authorization to open eight accounts.

Theft: James A. Hill III, 23, of 256 Baird Road, Edinburg, Pa., was charged with stealing from Wal-Mart a home drug-test kit and a pair of socks.

Menacing: A Brookfield Avenue girl reported another teen posted the accuser’s address online and tried to get others to fight the accuser.

Theft: Two pairs of men’s work pants were stolen from Wal-Mart.

Arrest: Police took custody of 52-year-old Peppe P. McGhee, 60 Prestwick Drive, Boardman, who was wanted on a felony warrant from Warren as well as a misdemeanor warrant charging him with a probation violation. McGhee also faced a separate charge of violating a court order.

Misuse of a credit card: An employee with a Market Street eatery found out an invalid card had been used to pay a $46 food order.

Theft: Fifteen packs of cigars were stolen from Smoker Friendly, 4927 Market St.

Theft: A parka was stolen from Burlington Coat Factory, 529 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Jan. 30

Criminal damaging: A vehicle near U.S. Route 224 and Trenholm Avenue had its driver’s-side mirror damaged.

Burglary: Someone rammed a rear door to a residence in the 3900 block of South Schenley Avenue. Among the property taken were two speakers, a power amplifier and two compact-disc players.

Theft: Jessica L. Edmonds, 21, of 39 Hilton Ave., Youngstown, was charged, accused of stealing $84 worth of clothing from Wal-Mart.

Possible theft: A woman in the 1200 block of Doral Drive told police someone may have siphoned gasoline from her car. Theft: Katie R. Riley, 19, of 706 Morten Ave., East Liverpool, faced a charge after $152 worth of clothing was stolen from Macy’s.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 7000 block of West Boulevard that had its front door forced open.

Jan. 31

Theft/assault: Two people left a Tiffany Boulevard restaurant without paying a $37 food bill. Also, an employee told police someone tossed money and struck her left side.

Theft: The rear license plate was removed from a vehicle in the 300 block of Boardman-Poland Road.

Arrest: Authorities responded to an intoxicated male at a Boardman-Canfield Road eatery said to have a knife, then charged 37-year-old Ralph C. Reedy, no address listed, with carrying a concealed weapon, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct while intoxicated. Reedy had threatened to kill two employees before body slamming an officer, who had to use a Taser to bring him under control, a report showed.

Feb. 1

Breaking and entering: Someone entered Trugreen,8529 South Ave., apparently through a gate. Missing was a $1,000 trailer.

Theft: Two vials of medication were missing from a locked medicine cabinet at a South Avenue health-care facility.

Theft: A Mathews Road man said he dropped his $100 cell phone and saw someone steal it.

Theft: A worker for McDonald’s, 15 Boardman-Canfield Road, told police that four deposits never made it to the bank as scheduled.

Theft: Christopher J. Petko, 28, of 99 Fatima Drive, Campbell, faced a charge after a $48 bottle of men’s cologne was stolen from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.

Burglary: To a home in the 700 block of Indianola Road, where a $2,000 wooden TV cabinet was damaged.

Burglary: Took place in the 200 block of Mathews Road via the front door. A 26-inch TV was missing.

Theft: Anthony J. Olesh, 40, of 3112 Ivy Hill Circle, Cortland, and 37-year-old Joseph Profanchik, 326 W. State St., Niles, were charged with theft and possession of drug-abuse instruments after clothing was stolen from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road, and when, police said, several hypodermic needles with suspected drug residue were found. Also arrested was 34-year-old Lori L. Jackson, 327 High St., Niles, who was wanted on a warrant charging her with theft.

Feb. 4

Criminal damaging: A car’s passenger-side rear tire was damaged in the 400 block of Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: Forty compact discs and $11 worth of change were removed from a car in the 4600 block of Waseka Lane.

Theft: A 17-year-old township boy was accused of stealing two shirts from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall and released to the custody of his father.

Theft: A front wheel and tire were stolen off a car in the 7000 block of West Boulevard.

Criminal mischief: A mailbox in the 1300 block of Windel Way was tampered with.

Attempted theft: Someone removed five lug nuts from a vehicle’s front tire in the 500 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.

Criminal damaging: Someone did $3,000 worth of damage to paint on a car’s passenger side in the 5300 block of Market Street.

Drugs: A traffic stop in the 300 block of Mathews Road led to the arrest of Kelvan P. Brown, 43, of 1175 Park Hill Drive Youngstown, on felony charges of possession of cocaine and crack cocaine when, police said, a bag of powder and a white substance tested positive for the two drugs. Brown also was wanted by Youngstown authorities on a burglary charge.

Arrests: A vehicle check near Simon Road resulted in the arrests of Mark H. Milner Jr., 28, of 75 E. Ravenwood Ave., Youngstown, and 27-year-old Tawatha Pierce, 419 W. Earle Ave., Youngstown. Milner was picked up on a felony theft charge and cited on one count of possession of marijuana; Pierce was wanted on a charge of failing to appear in court.

Feb. 5

Menacing: Three instructors with a Market Street business reported being threatened.

Misuse of a credit card: An Old Oxford Lane woman reported her stolen credit/debit card was used to make two unauthorized withdrawals totaling $540.

Criminal damaging: A car’s passenger-side window was damaged in the 700 block of Golfview Avenue.

Theft: A woman in her 20s stole two tops totaling $24 from Dots, 339 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft by deception: A Rockdale Avenue man applying online for a job reported receiving three $950 checks, along with a letter instructing him to deposit the money into an account and transfer a portion to London. The man knew it was a scam and lost no money, the report said.

Theft: Jared J. Huston, 20, of 52 N. Maryland Ave., Youngstown, was charged with taking a 7-inch portable DVD player from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Arrest: Authorities booked 39-year-old Richard D. Orell, 1344 Church Hill Drive, Liberty Township, on a charge of violating a protection order. Orell’s former girlfriend, of Boardman, reported he had sent threatening and harassing text messages in violation of the order, a report said.

Stolen property: Police spotted a stolen 1998 Chevrolet Monte Carlo in the 800 block of Cook Avenue and charged 24-year-old Clyde E. Hudson Jr., 3104 Idlewood Ave., Youngstown, with receiving stolen property. Hudson also was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Arrest: Officers investigated a suspicious car in the 100 block of Meadowbrook Avenue, where they took into custody 35-year-old Michael A. Crytzer, 29 McGuffey Road, Youngstown, who was wanted on a probation-violation count.

Arrest: Officers attempting to pull over a vehicle near Glenwood Avenue arrested 27-year-old Erin R. Hallas at her residence at 7377 Sierra Madre Trail on charges of endangering children and failure to comply with police. Hallas led authorities on a pursuit with a juvenile in the car, a report showed.

Aggravated menacing: A former worker for a Boardman-Canfield Road company threatened to damage the business unless criminal charges against him were dropped.

Criminal damaging: A car’s convertible roof was damaged in the 700 block of Mapleridge Drive. The estimate was $150.

Feb. 6

Vandalism: Someone damaged the packaging to a $70 MP3 player at Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road, rendering it unable to be sold.

Arrest: A 17-year-old township boy was charged with misrepresentation to purchase alcohol, a first-degree misdemeanor, after a worker for a South Avenue convenience store said he had bought beer and a bottle of rum using what turned out to be a phony identification card claiming he was 21.

Burglary: To a second-floor apartment in the 100 block of Lemans Drive that had its front door kicked in.

Feb. 7

Theft: A wallet was stolen from a worker with a Boardman-Canfield Road care center.

Theft: A woman reported the theft of her $495 cell phone at a Market Street business.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s driver-side sustained $550 worth of damage in the 900 block of East Midlothian Boulevard.

Criminal damaging: A car’s windshield was damaged in the 7400 block of Eagle Trail Drive. Damage came to $250.

Recovered property: An Applecrest Court woman found in her assigned parking space a 1997 Honda Accord that had been stolen in the township.

Feb. 8

Theft: Edward A. Gasior, 34, of 195 Marion Ave., Youngstown, was charged, accused of stealing three computer compact drivers from Wal-Mart.

Theft: A Turnberry Drive man reported $60 stolen from his bank account.

Domestic violence: A 16-year-old township boy was charged after his sister alleged the boy had struck her in the face.

Domestic violence: David R. Stidon, 23, of 7059 West Blvd., was arrested at his residence after being accused of pushing to the ground and choking his girlfriend. The two had argued about his not having a job, a report said.

Theft: Bobby Lee Burkey IV, 23, of 9525 Woodworth Road, North Lima, was charged and taken to the Mahoning County Justice Center in Youngstown. Burkey was accused of stealing a $13 bottle of wine from Sam’s Club, 6361 South Ave.

Fraud: An Erie Street woman found out her debit card had been used without permission to make a $1,387 online purchase.
