Burglary probed at assisted-living facility

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are investigating a burglary at Windhaven House, an assisted-living facility at 1012 Glenwood Ave.

The manager told police that between 6 p.m. Thursday and 10:30 a.m. Friday, someone broke into the office. A metal cabinet where the residents kept their valuables had been pried open.

The owner said about $5,000 in 35 Huntington Bank envelopes for the residents had been taken. The exact amount was not determined. At least five cartons of cigarettes were also taken.
