A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:
HUBBARD
Feb. 6
Theft: An East Liberty Street man reported the theft of his wife’s glasses.
Menacing: A Parish Avenue man told officers someone left on his cell phone a message threatening to blow up the accuser’s home.
Burglary: Police arrested Jamie Kozil, no information provided, on Myron Street and took him to the Trumbull County Jail after a West Park Avenue man reported a rear door to his residence had been kicked in.
Theft: A Masury woman discovered a theft from her account at a West Liberty Street credit union.
Feb. 7
Assault: A witness reported seeing a man in the 40 block of Hillview Drive kick another male and threaten him with a shovel as the two shoveled snow.
Feb. 9
Assault: A West Liberty Street man told police a neighbor had assaulted him.
Recovered property: A bicycle was found next to a snowbank in the 400 block of North Main Street.
LIBERTY
Feb. 5
Attempted breaking and entering: Someone broke a side basement window in an effort to enter an apartment in the 3000 block of Frederick Street.
Theft: Authorities picked up 37-year-old Rafaelle D. Daye, 262 Fairgreen Ave., Youngstown, at the Mahoning County jail. Liberty police accused Daye of failing to appear in court on a theft charge.
Possible theft: A Colonial Drive woman said she checked two township locations for her lost purse only to find it was at neither.
Theft: A laptop computer and another item were stolen from a vehicle in the 5500 block of Kingwood Lane.
Theft: An in-dash compact-disc player and $10 were removed from a car in the 4900 block of Greenbrier Drive.
Drugs/weapon: Police pulled over a vehicle in the 2700 block of Belmont Avenue and charged 25-year-old Tiffany M. Bachhofer, 5300 Lockwood Blvd., Boardman, with possession of drug-abuse instruments, as well as 28-year-old Scott T. Herrmann, same address, with carrying a concealed weapon. Found were a black folding knife and four hypodermic needles, a report said.
Arrest: Boardman police handed 39-year-old Richard D. Orell, 1344 Church Hill Road, to Liberty authorities. Orell was wanted by the township.
Attempted burglary: Took place in the 4000 block of Logan Gate Road when a resident saw someone trying to enter through a rear window.
Assault: A Youngstown woman at a Belmont Avenue business reported a 51-year-old man pushed her twice in the shoulder area during a heated discussion.
Theft: A Roosevelt Drive woman accused her boyfriend of taking $2,200 from her apartment.
Recovered property: A police officer found a 20-inch bicycle on the side of the road in the 5600 block of Logan Arms Drive.
Breaking and entering: Someone kicked open a rear door, then entered a residence in the 400 block of Secrist Lane, though nothing appeared to be missing.
Feb. 6
Misuse of a credit card: A Staunton Drive woman told officers her check-card number had been used without consent to buy a $250 gift card online.
Arrest: Police stopped a car near Belmont and Granada avenues and arrested Sean A. Eldridge, 42, of 68 Brooklyn Ave., Youngstown. Eldridge was wanted on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in court.
Feb. 8
Theft: James E. Ritter, 50, of 25 Market St., Youngstown, faced charges of theft and obstructing official business after $50 worth of food and other items was stolen from Wal-Mart, 200 Goldie Road. Ritter also gave a false name, a report said.
Arrest: A traffic stop on state Route 193 led to the arrest of 30-year-old Frank J. Pierce, 816 Lexington Ave., Youngstown, on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, drug abuse, obstructing official business and driving under suspension. A suspected marijuana cigar was found in the vehicle, and police had to use a Taser to get Pierce to comply, a report showed.
Theft: A woman in her 40s stole roughly $380 worth of groceries from Aldi food store, 3497 Belmont Ave.
Trespassing: A Shannon Road man accused his son of trespassing on his property as well as threatening workers for a tree-cutting company the father had hired.
Feb. 10
Threats: A Tuttle Lane woman said her former boyfriend called and made implied threats.
Arrest: Authorities responded to a shoplifting situation at Dollar General, 3551 Belmont Ave., where they took 48-year-old Dennis P. Franklin, 456 Catalina Drive, Poland, into custody on a warrant charging him with larceny. A theft charge was pending.
GIRARD
Feb. 9
Harassment: Two employees with a South State Street bank reported a customer in Minnesota made about eight harassing calls.
Feb. 10
Criminal mischief: A man in the 1000 block of Patricia Drive discovered deep scratches on his vehicle’s tailgate.
Possible fraud: A Reeds Court man told police about a call questioning the accuser’s Social Security information, then stating that someone would come to his home. A Social Security office informed the man that its policy is to contact people by mail, not phone initially, leading him to believe it was a scam.
Criminal mischief: A woman in the 900 block of Patricia Drive accused a man of damaging fixtures in her bathroom.
