Ohio now dealing with icy hghways, snow drifts
COLUMBUS (AP) — Ohio road crews are still dealing with ice and drifts left behind by the second snowstorm to hit the state in less than a week.
Darke County in western Ohio continued to ban all but official travel this morning as drifted snow blocked most secondary streets.
The county’s 911 coordinator, Brandon Redmond, says 10 drivers got stuck Tuesday and Wednesday, though that was down from the 60 who needed help getting out of snow during the earlier storm Friday and Saturday.
Cincinnati has asked residents to move cars off streets to make clearing them easier.
Snow tapered off Wednesday, though Dayton still set a snowfall record for the date at 1.9 inches.
Many Ohio school districts remain closed, although some planned to reopen today.
