A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:
CANFIELD CITY
Jan. 29
Drug abuse: Police arrested William Nicholas Bednar III, 22, 119 Milton Ave., Youngstown, on Main Street at the BP station on a charge of drug abuse. Police found an unlabeled pill bottle in his car containing four generic prescription painkillers.
Warrant: Police arrested Michael D. Hornyak, 39, 7660 Bedford Road, Hubbard, on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in mayor’s court. He told police he previously had paid $35 for a bond and sent $40 for the bond in that day.
Jan. 30
Underage consumption: Police arrested a male juvenile on a charge of underage consumption and arrested Andre Lefoet, 18, 315 Deer Trail, Canfield, on charges of underage consumption and supplying alcohol to a minor. Police received complaints from staff at Canfield High School and calls from students at a drama-club event. Five students were identified by school officials as having been drinking. Police administered a Breathalizer test and found a partly filled bottle of vodka, a 30-pack of beer and a bottle of Hawaiian punch with vodka.

Feb. 1
Theft: A refrigerator-freezer was taken by prior tenants at a home in the 6000 block of Silica Road.
Menacing: A woman reported receiving threats at a home in the 1000 block of Maplecrest Drive.
Feb. 2
Burglary: A television and jewelry were stolen from a home in the 6000 block of Fairview Road.
Assault: Two women are suspects in an assault at Club Gossip, 1743 S. Raccoon Road.
Fraud: An unauthorized charge was made to a bank account by an Internet company at a home in the 6000 block of Notre Dame Avenue.
Warrant: Police arrested Sandra Cessna, 60, 4615 New Road, and Richard Cessna, 61, same address, on warrants charging them with failure to appear for a zoning violation.
Warrant: Jason Sudac, 34, 4434 Burkey Road, Austintown was arrested on a warrant charging him with making unwanted phone calls.
Feb. 3
Theft: A wallet was taken and a debit card used at an apartment in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.
Assault: A woman is a suspect in an assault at Billy’s Bar, 40 S. Meridian Road.
Theft: A notary seal, a briefcase, an undetermined amount of currency and a 35 mm camera were stolen from a home in the 100 block of Howard Street.
Theft: A GPS and a CB radio were stolen from a vehicle at Best Western, 870 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Telephone harassment: Unwanted phone calls were reported at a home in the 5000 block of Tarrytown Road.
Feb. 4
Theft: A stereo was taken from an auto in the 1000 block of South Four Mile Run Road.
Criminal damaging: Windows were broken on a 2001 Saturn at a home in the 1000 block of South Four Mile Run Road.
Theft: Customers walked out on a bill at Buffalo Wild Wings, 6000 Mahoning Ave.
Auto theft: A woman is a suspect in the theft of an auto at a home in the 60 block of Westminister Drive.
Aggravated robbery: Four people were victims in a robbery at the I-76 Spa, 5325 Seventy-Six Drive.
Passing bad check: A woman is accused of passing bad checks at Huntington Bank, 6010 Mahoning Ave.
Warrant: Police arrested Scott S. McCleery, 30, 576 Wyndclift Circle, Austintown, on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in court on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse.
Theft: A light bar was stolen from Impact property, 3718 Mahoning Ave.
Aggravated menacing: A man is a suspect in aggravated menacing at BW-3, 6000 Mahoning.
Feb. 5
Drug offense: Dwain Lucky, 35, 3823 Mahoning Ave., was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana at Lev Management, 3827 Mahoning Ave.
Feb. 6
Auto theft: A 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier was stolen from a home in the 3000 block of Evelyn Road and recovered by Youngstown police, burned out.
Burglary: A snow thrower was stolen from a home in the 5000 block of West Viola Drive.
Criminal damaging: A bathroom mirror was broken at Sleep Inn, 5555 Interstate Blvd.
Criminal damaging: The driver’s-side window of a vehicle was broken at Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.
Criminal damaging: A 2000 Pontiac was scratched at a home in the 60 block of Westminster Avenue.
Feb. 7
Theft: Two rings were stolen from a home in the 2000 block of South Turner Road.
Criminal damaging: A garage door was spray-painted at a home in the 4000 block of Patricia Avenue.
Aggravated menacing: A man was threatened by another man in the 4000 block of New Road.
Theft: $25.84 in gasoline was stolen from Country Fair, 1143 S. Canfield-Niles Road.
