‘Twilight’ actor Facinelli coming to Eastwood Mall
NILES — Peter Facinelli, who played Dr. Carlisle Cullin in the hit movies “Twilight” and its sequel, “New Moon,” will be at Eastwood Mall from noon to 5 p.m. March 6 to greet fans. Autographs and photos with Facinelli can be purchased for $25 and $40, respectively, with partial proceeds going to benefit the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a charity that seeks a cure for childhood cancer.
Facinelli has been quite busy in recent years. In 2007, he had a role in the FX series “Damages.” The following year, he signed on as Dr. Carlisle Cullen, the patriarch of a brood of vampires in the “Twilight” franchise. He recently completed shooting the third installment, “Eclipse,” scheduled for release later this year. Facinelli also plays Dr. Fitch “Coop” Cooper in the Showtime series “Nurse Jackie.”
Production company reschedules opening
WARREN — Because of last weekend’s snowstorm, the Trumbull Senior Production Company has rescheduled its grand opening for this Saturday, from 2 to 4 p.m. at 3323 Parkman Road N.W. The public is invited.
Metal band gets signed
Karen Page, a Pittsburgh-based experimental metal band that includes bassist Rick Miclea of Youngstown, has signed a contract with Rotten Records of Los Angeles. The band’s self-titled debut album will be released Tuesday and can be pre-ordered from Best Buy, Barnes and Noble and FYE.
Karen Page will embark on a U.S. tour that will hit 15 states. The tour will begin Saturday at Phantasy Niteclub in Cleveland. Other regional stops include the Altar Bar in Pittsburgh, Feb. 28; and the Hi-Fi Club, Lakewood, March 12.
‘Priceless’ at Westminster
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Jake Erhardt International Film Series will show the French film “Hors de Prix [Priceless]” at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Sebastian Mueller Theater in the McKelvey Campus Center.
The event is free to the public. Westminster film-studies students will introduce the film and lead a discussion after the showing. The 2006 film won the NRJ Cin Award for Best Kiss and was nominated for Best Foreign Romance Trailer.
In this romantic comedy, directed by Pierre Salvadori, a young gold digger woos a mild-mannered bartender, a man she has mistaken for a wealthy suitor. Additional films scheduled this semester are “The Stoning of Soraya M.,” March 23, and “Chi bi [Red Cliff],” April 20.
Cirque du Soleil show
CLEVELAND — Cirque du Soleil’s traveling production Alegria will come to Wolstein Center April 7-11 for eight performances only.
