Weathersfield, Niles swap properties
MINERAL RIDGE — Weathersfield Township trustees Tuesday approved an agreement with the city of Niles for the township to annex a portion of Kerr Cemetery and detach a piece of township property at Waddell Park to Niles.
Waddell Park is on Niles- Warren Road, and 16.7041 acres will be annexed to Niles.
Niles is detaching 16.4143 acres from Kerr Cemetery, located at 1240 Salt Springs Road, to the township.
Trustees also approved a resolution authorizing the Trumbull County Planning Commission to demolish five condemned residential structures in the township, including:1157 Emmet St., 1487 Salt Springs Road, 1760 N. State St., 2210 Garfield Ave. and 3410 McDonald Ave.
Trustees recessed a public hearing on a proposed new lighting district in the 2256 to 2416 block of Salt Springs Road, Trustee Chairman Steve Gerberry said. Residents in attendance were asked to go back to neighbors and explain what the cost will be and get their reaction. The hearing will be reconvened before the next trustees meeting at 6:45 p.m. March 9.
