Ohio Treasury issues bonds to preserve, history, culture and sports


COLUMBUS — Ohio Treasurer Kevin L. Boyce announced today that a $30 million Treasury bond issue will help the Ohio Cultural Facilities Commission fund projects at the state's nonprofit theaters, museums, art education facilities, historical sites and publicly owned professional sports venues.

The 10-year bonds have an interest rate of 2.96 percent.

Projects being considered for future funding include the Cleveland Public Theatre, the Columbus Zoo, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Since 1988, $524 million has been appropriated for more than 300 projects of various sizes and complexities, which are located across 72 Ohio counties.
