Warren police investigating shooting of city man

WARREN — A 35-year-old city man was in critical condition today in the intensive care unit at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital after being shot Sunday evening at a West Avenue Northwest home.

DeShaun L. Pruitt of Lener Avenue Southwest told police he was shot by someone he knows at that address at around 11:10 p.m.

Police went to the area because of a report of gunfire.

A Trumbull County grand jury indicted Pruitt last week on charges of heroin possession and aggravated drug possession.

In late 2001, Pruitt was sentenced to seven years in prison on a charge of felonious assault with a firearm.
