Shelter opens today in Salineville

SALINEVILLE — The Columbiana County Emergency Management Agency has announced that because of storms on Saturday and Sunday that left up to 20 inches of snowfall and power outages throughout Columbiana County, the American Red Cross is opening a care center today at the Salineville Fire Station, 34 Washington St.

The facility opened at 3 p.m. today. Dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m.

Cots and blankets will be available to those who wish to stay the night.

Residents utilizing these services should bring necessary personal items, to include medications.
