Habitat for Humanity receives foundation grant
STRUTHERS — Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning County ReStores, 480 Youngstown-Poland Road, received a $5,000 grant from the Dominion East Ohio Foundation.
The local organization was among eight Ohio Habitat for Humanity ReStores that received Dominion Foundation grants totalling $37,500. ReStores are nonprofit outlets that accept donated goods for resale.
Stephen Hanzely of the local Habitat said the money will be used to help defray the $170,000 cost of a new addition to the Struthers store that is targeted for a March completion.
Individuals and businesses that wish to donate or purchase items should call (330) 755-2232 . Donations are usually picked on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Almost anything except clothing is accepted.
The store is open Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Hanzely said.
